It's just after Yom Kippur, and I wanted to share with you something I heard at the break the fast from the oldest member of our community who's turning 100 in a few weeks. This was her first break the fast because she doesn't normally come on Yom Kippur day to shul. It's too difficult at her age and her frail um position to come. She said, "Rabbi, do you know why I'm here? I made the effort to come today because I heard that this morning they attacked a shul in Manchester. I told my son, 'They attacked a shul. We are going to shul.'" Think about that. That's not the normal reaction you would
expect. They attacked a shul, I'm staying away from shul. Here she said, "They attacked a shul, we're going to shul." Security we take seriously here as we did review this morning, but in addition to that, our inner security, our self-security, is the power that really takes us forward. In her eyes, I saw the power of generations of Jews who responded, "A shul was attacked, I'm going to shul. Am Yisrael Chai."
